3 Best Prop Bets for Phillies vs Astros 2022 World Series Game 2

Updated:

Game 2 of the 2022 World Series is slated for Saturday, Oct. 29 after the Philadelphia Phillies took the 1-0 series lead over the Houston Astros on Friday. FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds list the Astros as the -142 moneyline favorites in Game 2 in a contest with a 7-run projected total.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Phillies vs Astros for Game 2 of the World Series, courtesy of MLB odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

World Series Prop Bets

1. Framber Valdez 6+ Strikeouts/Astros Win (+185)

Framber Valdez gets the nod for the Astros as they look to even the series. Fortunately, Dusty Baker's club performs well when the southpaw takes the mound, finding wins in 13 of Valdez's last 16 starts. A big part of that success has to do with the 28-year-old's strikeout ability. He recorded at least six strikeouts in all but two of those aforementioned outings, which includes averaging 8.3 Ks in his last three starts. Even though the Phillies had the third-best batting average against lefties this season (.266), they also tallied the eighth-most strikeouts against southpaws in the Majors. With it being unlikely that the Astros go down 0-2, I can see them winning here along with Valdez having another six-plus strikeout performance.

2. Bryce Harper to Record 2+ Hits (+270)

Bryce Harper has been a terrific presence for the Phillies this postseason. The NLCS MVP is batting .426 with 20 hits in 12 playoff games and is a good candidate to come through on this prop. While recording multiple hits is tough for some, it's another day in the office for Harper. The Las Vegas native has recorded at least two hits in six of his last eight games, including in each of the last three. Even with the left-handed batter facing a southpaw starter, Harper should be fine as he's batting .533 in his last 15 at-bats against lefties. Now that the two-time NL MVP is beginning to heat up this postseason, don't be surprised if he finishes Game 2 with multiple hits yet again.

3. Astros Win by 1-3 Runs (+125)

The Astros' Game 1 loss marked the first time that they were defeated this postseason. Considering how Houston hasn't lost back-to-back games in over a month, I like their odds of bouncing back on Saturday. Keeping that in mind, when the Astros have won this season, it hasn't been by a huge margin. Six of their seven playoff wins have been by just one or two runs. Meanwhile, each of the Phillies' two postseason losses was by three runs each. Since the Astros tend to avoid blowouts despite winning a lot, I'll take Houston winning this one by one to three runs.
