3 Best NFL Survivor Pool Picks for Week 2

Updated:

If you're reading this story that means you dodged the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans in Week 1. And in most survivor pools, you also had to have avoided the tie in the Indianapolis Colts game. Talk about a minefield to start the season.

With a good chunk of your survivor pool probably eliminated already, things are starting to get intense, and you're probably already sweating the Week 2 decision.

The Duel is here to help. Here are the three best NFL survivor pool picks for Week 2.

NFL Survivor Week 2 Picks

3. Denver Broncos (vs HOU)

Every year the NFL season proves we shouldn't overreact to Week 1, and every year we do it anyway. Try to resist that urge here. The Denver Broncos looked bad in Week 1, yes. The Houston Texans looked surprisingly competent, yes. Let's not read too much into an offense with a new quarterback and new coach hitting some growing pains though. Russell Wilson and company are 9.5-point favorites for a reason, and I feel just as comfortable taking them here as I would have before that Monday Night Football disaster.

2. San Francisco 49ers (vs SEA)

Notice a trend here? One ugly, ugly win for the Seattle Seahawks should not scare you. That win saw them post a net gain of only 44 yards on offense in the second half. The San Francisco 49ers' offense obviously disappointed with Lance at the helm, but the monsoon in Chicago hitting the perennially poorly-maintained Soldier Field is enough to make any offense look clumsy. Bet on the bounce-back for the 49ers.

1. Los Angeles Rams (vs ATL)

Some people call it overthinking, but there's unquestionably value in finding less popular picks in survivor, and after a disappointing Week 1 showing with all eyes on them in primetime, the Los Angeles Rams may go a little under-picked this week. It's not often you'll get the defending Super Bowl champs as a whopping 10.5-point favorite who is -510 on the moneyline at FanDuel (the biggest favorite of the week) and also not being total chalk in survivor. Take advantage of that.
