Belmont Horse Racing Picks for Memorial Day Monday 5/29/23

According to numberFire horse racing projections and Guaranteed Tip Sheet, these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today. The best value option will not necessarily be the top pick(s).

FanDuel Racing's May 19 picks at Pimlico went 3-for-3 and produced an 11/1 winner on Taxed in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes that also paid $190 on a $2 exacta bet. The May 26 picks at Belmont produced two top play winners, but both as favorites. On Sat., May 27 at Belmont, FanDuel Racing top picks went 3-for-3 including a $2 exacta payoff for $89 in Race 9.

1. Classy Edition and Venti Valentine, Race 3

Race 3 is the $200,000 Critical Eye Stakes for NY-bred fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles. The numberFire data and Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS) project the favorite Classy Edition (7/5) to win ahead of Venti Valentine (5/2) with HOF jockey John Velazquez riding.

Top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. rides Classy Edition for leading trainer Todd Pletcher, who also enters Let Her Inspire U (5/1) in the race with Manny Franco up.

Classy Edition drops from a Grade I stakes to a level where she won two with ease. Venti Valentine is 2-for-3 at Belmont and pointed to this race and distance off rest and refresh. Let Her Inspire U ran the highest last race speed figure, according to GTS.

2. Marvelous Maude and Race 6

Race 6 is the $125,000 Mount Vernon Stakes for older fillies and mares at 1-mile on the turf. Both GTS and numberFire land on Marvelous Maude (9/5) to win, as she's never missed the board in five starts at Belmont. Irad Ortiz, Jr. rides for leading trainer Chad Brown.

Against a mediocre group, Sanura (5/1) can sit back today and finish with an edge to challenge for her third straight win. Royal Dancer (15/1) has value and should have speed in the stretch if jockey Carmouche can get her to settle running near the leaders on the backstretch.

3. Bankit and Ouster, Race 9

Race 9 is the $200,000 Commentator Stakes for NY-breds at 1 1/16 miles.
The numberFire algorithm projects Bankit (4/1) to win with strong stretch rider Joel Rosario up for HOF trainer Steve Asmussen. Ouster (5/1) is a win contender and Guaranteed Tip Sheet likes Dr. Ardito (9/5) to cash in as the favorite.

Dr. Ardito has won 6-of-8 and 4-of-5 on fast tracks. Ouster should like the longer assignment. Jockey Dyland Davis knows him well, and Ouster has finished 1st or 2nd in six straight races with three wins.

Bankit should improve in his second start after a layoff, as he finished 1st or 2nd in 4-of-5 prior to his race last month. He's a grinding sort who does have enough tactical speed to stay close before Rosario goes to work at the quarter pole. Barese (10/1) was beaten as the favorite in his last for EPO trainer Mike Maker and jockey upgrade to Irad Ortiz, Jr.
