Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season is here, bringing several exciting showdowns. The Monday Night Football affair is an interesting one as the Chicago Bears are set to face New England Patriots. The Bears enter this one as losers of three straight games, while the Patriots search for a win to extend their winning streak to three.

Bears vs Patriots Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, the Patriots are a clear -390 favorite on the moneyline (7.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 40.5.

What should NFL fans expect in this matchup, and where can bettors find value?

Bears vs Patriots Prediction and Best Bet

The Bears have been an offensive black hole this season. On top of having the second-worst scoring offense in the NFL, Matt Eberflus' team has been held to fewer than 20 points on four occasions, while finishing with 12 or fewer points three times.

If Bears fans are hoping for relief, they won't get it this week. The Patriots are tied for the seventh-best scoring defense this season, having given up just 15 points over the last two games. That includes a 29-0 shutout against the Detroit Lions — a team that many people said had one of the top offenses earlier this year.

There just isn't any good reason to believe that the Bears can pull off an upset here. They're a below-average team without any true playmakers, making it tough to believe how they can beat a Bill Belichick team on the road. After all, the Bears haven't even won at Gilette Stadium since 2000.

With the Bears' offense downright bad, I expect that the Patriots will cover the 7.5-point spread. Furthermore, I'm taking under 40.5 points due to the likelihood of New England simply running out the clock once the team inevitably takes a big lead over Chicago.
