Bears Get Fantastic Justin Fields Injury Update Ahead of Week 12

Updated:

Justin Fields was clearly bothered by an injury in the Bears Week 11 game, but he powered through it. It was revealed he was having issues with his left, non-throwing shoulder, but thankfully it seems things aren't too serious.

Head coach Matt Eberflus announced on Wednesday that Fields was cleared to practice and is considered day-to-day.

Eberflus added that if Fields is ready, he's going to play. Which certainly sounds like an encouraging sign for Field's Week 12 status.

Fields has really started to come into his own of late. While it's not reflected in the Bears' record, sitting at 3-8 this season, much of that can be attributed to the defense's inability to stop opposing offenses.

The Bears have lost four consecutive games, but the offense has averaged just under 29 points per game in that stretch (28.75) and three of those four losses have come by three points or less. It's tough to expect a quarterback or a team to win many games when the defense is allowing 35.5 points per game over that same four-game span.

Fields' health is certainly something to still keep an eye on ahead of the Bears Week 12 game against the New York Jets, where Chicago is a 4.5-point road underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
