Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season is here, bringing a few exciting matchups. The upcoming slate includes an interesting NFC showdown as the Dallas Cowboys host the Chicago Bears. The Bears search for back-to-back wins for the first time this season, while the Cowboys hope that QB Dak Prescott can continue building off last week's return performance.

Can the Bears win on the road to spoil Prescott's return? Or will the Cowboys be too much to handle en route to their fourth consecutive victory at home?

Bears vs Cowboys Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, the Cowboys are a clear -460 favorite on the moneyline (9.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 42.5.

What should NFL fans expect in this matchup, and where can bettors find value?

Bears vs Cowboys Prediction and Best Bet

The Bears' victory over the New England Patriots didn't do they many favors in oddsmakers' eyes. They're still the major 9.5-point road underdogs this week while the Cowboys' -460 moneyline odds equate to an implied probability of 82.1%.

Chicago's defense has played a major factor in any success this season, but the unit took a hit when pass-rusher Robert Quinn was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week. Now, the Bears' D has to deal with the Cowboys, who are scoring an average of 28.7 points in Prescott's last 11 starts.

Even without starting RB Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys should be just fine. Tony Pollard is one of the best backup rusher's in the NFL while the Bears are tied for giving up the third-most rushing yards per game in the league at 149.7.

Besides, the Bears' offense has been widely inconsistent this season. While the unit put up 33 points against the Patriots, it only averaged 15.5 points in the six games before that. Given that Justin Fields needs to string together more solid performances to become trustworthy, I can see Dallas' defense — which has 12 takeaways already (T-No. 5) having a field day.

Until proven otherwise, we live in a world where the Cowboys should cover the 9.5-point spread. Having said that, both defenses are among the NFL's best and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a low-scoring affair, so also take under 42.5 points on the total.
