Bears Get Concerning Justin Fields Injury Update After Week 11 Game

Updated:

The Chicago Bears once again depended on quarterback Justin Fields to do it all for their offense in Week 11. As he tried to lead the team to a comeback win late in the fourth quarter, though, he appeared to get shaken up on a hit near the sideline.

The latest injury news on the Bears' QB is certainly a cause for concern.

Fields was carted back to the locker room at the end of Sunday's game. Reporters on the scene noted the young signal-caller was holding his left shoulder as he left the field.

After the game, head coach Matt Eberflus confirmed Fields had his left shoulder evaluated. He declined to provide any further information on the issue, however.

It sounds like Bears fans will have to wait until early this week to find out more about Fields' injury. The one positive is it's to his non-throwing shoulder, though the QB playing through any kind of serious ailment could impact his use as a rusher, which has helped spark Chicago's offense in recent weeks.

Fields admitted after the team's Week 10 loss that his body was feeling the effects of his increased workload. He's been electric on the ground this season, recording 749 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns across his first 10 games. He added another 85 yards and a score against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday as well.

Hopefully Fields' injury isn't anything major. After dropping to 3-8 on the year, the Bears certainly must consider his long-term health before clearing him to return to the field.
