  • Houston is 13-5 straight up (SU) in its last 18 games against the National League.
  • Milwaukee is 7-3 SU in its last 10 home games.
  • The total has hit the Under in each of Houston's last five road games.
  • The total has hit the Under in 12 of Milwaukee's last 16 games against the AL West.

Astros vs Brewers Prediction & Pick

Viewers can expect a potential pitching duel tonight. Cristian Javier continues to pitch well for the Astros, going 4-1 with a 3.25 ERA and 0.968 WHIP through nine starts. He's also turned things up in his last three starts, allowing just six runs on eight hits with 24 strikeouts over 19 innings.

That's not even to mention how Corbin Burnes is on the other side for the Brewers. The former NL Cy Young winner has had his ups and downs but has played to a 4-3 record and 3.48 ERA in nine starts.

Although I expect strong performances from both Javier and Burnes, I like the Astros' odds of winning tonight. While the momentum from their seven-game run certainly helps, they've also racked up 13 wins in their last 18 meetings with an NL club. Meanwhile, the Brewers are 4-8 against the spread in 12 games against AL teams at home this season.

Considering how the Brewers lost three straight games before their latest wins, I'm even more inclined to believe that the Astros will continue their winning ways.

Final Score Prediction: Astros: 4 | Brewers: 2

Astros vs Brewers Best Bet

I like the idea of the total going under 7.5 runs as the best bet for this matchup. First of all, both starting pitchers have played extremely well this season. Secondly, the Under is 8-3 in the Astros' last 11 games as well as 12-4 in the Brewers' previous 16 against AL West foes.

With the Astros and Brewers averaging a combined 7.4 runs in their last five respective games, I just don't see there being enough offense present to hit the Over.

Bet: Under 7.5 Total Runs (-106)
