Aaron Rodgers Has Terrible Career Record Against Elite Teams on the Road

Updated:

Aaron Rodgers can make throws that only one or two quarterbacks in the league can pull off. He's got a way of making those high-degree-of-difficulty throws look effortless, and he's undoubtedly one of the most talented quarterbacks this league has ever seen.

However, one blemish on Rodgers' otherwise spotless resume has been his road record. Rodgers is just 42-46 in his 88 all-time career road games. For reference, Tom Brady is 97-44 on the road, and Peyton Manning was 85-48.

In fact, following last night's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Rodgers has now fallen to 0-7 when on the road against a team that is at least six games over .500.

To be fair, it's hard to fault Rodgers too much. This stat inherently places Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a difficult spot – going on the road against a team with a top-tier record, but it's still surprising that he hasn't managed to win one of these.

Interestingly, Rodgers might get the chance to notch the first win of his career in this such situation when he faces the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

In order for Minnesota to meet this criteria, the Vikings would have to win at minimum two of their next three games (against the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions and Los Angels Chargers). It'll be tough, but given how well the 8-3 Vikings are playing, Minnesota absolutely has a chance to improve to at least 10-4.

If that happens, this legendary NFC North rivalry game will have even more at stake than usual.
