5 Most Fun Prop Bets for Super Bowl 57

Updated:

The Super Bowl is historically known as the most wagered upon single day sporting event. It should be no different this time around when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off for the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday, Feb. 12. There's an enormous amount of ways to get in on the action.

Most of the money being wagered will be placed on bets involving the moneyline, spread or point total. The prop bets for this game are insane, though, and include options that aren't always available for regular season matchups. Let's take a look at five of the most fun ones on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Fun Super Bowl Prop Bets

1. Coin Toss Outcome

This list wouldn't be complete without mentioning the phenomenon that betting on the coin toss has become. As the only true 50/50 bet on the board, many bettors are drawn to the prop as it provides a winning or losing ticket before the game even kicks off. It's interesting to note that the team that has lost the coin toss has gone on to win the Super Bowl in each of the last eight matchups. Kansas City has the honor of calling heads or tails as the designated away team and it's safe to say many fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the decision.

2. Any Player to Record an Octopus

This may be the most fun sounding prop bet available. An octopus is defined as an instance in which a player scores a touchdown and then scores on an ensuing 2-point conversion. The odds for that to happen are set at +1300 on FanDuel Sportsbook as the odds for it not to happen are set at -4500. An octopus has occurred only 168 times in NFL history since the 2-point conversion was introduced in 1994, according to Action Network. Who knows, a close game could cause both head coaches to take a risk and go for two. Maybe Travis Kelce or AJ Brown cashes this one for a big payout.

3. Will There be a Scorigami?

Here's another fun prop bet with an interesting name. Scorigami is term that has become synonymous with when a final score is unique in terms of the NFL's history. When the score has never happened before, it is called scorigami. It's a rare feat that happened three times during the 2022 regular season with final scores of 48-45 (Week 4), 54-19 (Week 13) and 22-18 (Week 16). That last one between the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots was the 1,075th scorigami of all-time. Cashing this bet at +1800 odds (-8000 odds for no) would certainly give bettors a rush.

4. Will a Quarterback Have a Reception in the Game?

Who can forget when the quarterback Nick Foles caught a touchdown pass in Super Bowl 52 to help the Eagles capture their first Lombardi Trophy? Or when Tom Brady famously dropped what seemed like a wide open catch in that very same game? Seeing QBs leak out during trick plays to catch a pass is an exciting moment in any game, let alone the biggest one of them all. Running back Joe Mixon threw a touchdown pass in Super Bowl 56, so it's obvious that coaching staffs have trick plays ready to go if deemed necessary. The elite mobility of Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts makes this bet one to keep an eye on at +1400 odds (-5000 for no).

5. What Will Happen First, Sack or Touchdown?

Both Kansas City and Philadelphia are known for being teams that can get to the quarterback on defense and get into the end zone on offense. The Chiefs finished with 55.0 sacks on the year (No. 2 in NFL) and posted a red zone scoring percentage of 70.5% (No. 2 in NFL). The Eagles tallied 70.0 sacks on the year (No. 2 in NFL) and logged a red zone scoring percentage of 68.6% (No. 3 in NFL). It makes betting on whether a sack or a touchdown will occur first an exciting choice. Each side is listed at -110 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook and this one should be decided in the first quarter.
