Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season includes inter-conference play as the San Francisco 49ers travel to face the Atlanta Falcons. The 49ers have begun to heat up after winning three of their last four games, while the Falcons look to find ways to continue proving their doubters wrong.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, the 49ers are a clear -235 favorite on the moneyline (5.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 44.5.

The 49ers are a team that loves to run the ball while the Falcons don't have the greatest run defense. San Francisco's backfield generates 138.8 rushing yards per game (No. 8) and just combined for a 153-yard performance last week. Meanwhile, Atlanta gives up an average of 164 rushing yards on their home turf — fourth-worst in the NFL.

Even if the 49ers go with the likes of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle doing damage through the air, the Falcons own the fourth-worst passing defense in the league. In other words, this could get out of hand real quick in the 49ers' favor.

On the other side of the ball, the 49ers have held their opponents to 19 or fewer points in every game. As often as the Falcons have kept things close with their opponents this season, I have a tough time buying them hanging with the 49ers, who are shaping up to be legitimate Super Bowl Contenders ever since Jimmy Garoppolo took over under center.

The Falcons may have defied expectations at times this year, but my money's on the 49ers winning this one. Keeping that in mind, back San Francisco as the 5.5-point favorite while also taking under 44.5 points on the total thanks to the 49ers' defense.
