49ers vs Bears Week 1 Game Info

2022 NFL Regular Season — Week 1 Game
San Francisco 49ers (0-0, 0-0 Away) vs. Chicago Bears (0-0, 0-0 Home)
Date: Sunday, September 11, 2022
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Soldier Field — Chicago, IL
Coverage: FOX

The San Francisco 49ers will travel to take on the Chicago Bears in Week 1 NFL action. The 49ers have made the NFC Championship game twice in the last three seasons, but have a new quarterback leading the way in 2022. Trey Lance has been handed the reins to lead Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Meanwhile, the Bears are looking to improve all over the field after a disappointing 2021 season (6-11 record). While quarterback Justin Fields has had a full offseason to develop as a NFL starter, the weapons in front of him are less than stellar. It'll be interesting to see if he can adjust accordingly.

49ers vs Bears Odds & Spread

All NFL betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: SF: (-280) | CHI: (+230)
Spread: SF: -6.5 (-110) | CHI: +6.5 (-110)
Total: 39.5 — Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

Updated (Sunday, Sept. 11, 11:20 a.m. EST): Updated odds were provided from FanDuel Sportsbook. Although the point spread remains steady at 6.5 points in favor of the 49ers, San Francisco saw a considerable decrease in their moneyline odds down to -280. The point total also dropped to 39.5.

The 49ers enter this contest as a clear favorite on the moneyline and the spread. This 1 p.m. ET clash also features the lowest total of the NFL Week 1 slate.

49ers vs Bears Prediction & Pick

These two teams met during the 2021 regular season and the game resulted in a 33-22 win for the 49ers, but the game was much closer than the final score made it seem. The Bears led 16-15 heading into the fourth quarter before blowing the lead. Offensive inefficiency ultimately caught up the them.

Look for Bears head coach Matt Eberflus to have his hands full trying to shut down Deebo Samuel and George Kittle here. After all, stopping one only opens the door for the other to dominate. San Francisco simply has too many weapons to lose to a Chicago team still attempting to form an identity.

Final Score Prediction: 49ers: 21 | Bears: 17

49ers vs Bears Betting Trends

- San Francisco is 14-6 against the spread (ATS) in its last 20 games against Chicago.
- The total has hit the under in seven of San Francisco's last eight games.
- Chicago is 1-5 ATS in its last six home games.
- The total has hit the over in four of Chicago's last five games as an underdog.

49ers vs Bears Best Bet

All NFL betting lines, odds and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

With two inexperienced QBs leading the way, this matchup could end up being much closer than people think. That makes avoiding the moneyline and targeting the total the way to go. Keep in mind both the 49ers and Bears ranked in the top half of NFL teams in terms of 2021 total DVOA rating.

Six of Chicago's eight home games last season saw less than 42 total points scored, too. The Bears could easily turn to running backs David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert assuming they don't go down by too much too early. Back the under here as new faces on offense take some time to gel.

Bet: Under 39.5 Points(-110)
