3 Vikings Who Have Killed the Packers the Most

3 Vikings Who Have Killed the Packers the Most

Updated:

The Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers rivalry in the NFC North has been one of the NFL's most heated in recent years. The Packers have one of the league's richest histories, but the Vikings have found plenty of success as well.

When these teams meet, it's always an intense showdown, and these three current Vikings have really stepped up in rivalry matchups.

1. Dalvin Cook

Dalvin Cook has only met with the Packers three times in his young career, but he's made the most of the opportunities. He racked up at least 70 yards from scrimmage in each of the three games, totaling 221 rushing yards on 40 carries plus 136 receiving yards on 9 catches. That's an average of 119.0 yards from scrimmage per game.

2. Harrison Smith

Over the last decade, only 13 players have recorded multiple interceptions against the Packers. Only one of these players has more than 2 — Harrison Smith, with 5. While just 12.5 percent of Smith's NFL games have been against the Packers, that's where he's racked up 21.7 percent of his interceptions. He comes to play against Green Bay, and that's especially impressive when you consider the fact that Rodgers holds the NFL record for the lowest career interception rate, at 1.4 percent.

3. Everson Griffen

Getting to Aaron Rodgers in another way, Everson Griffen has both the most sacks (12.5) and quarterback hits (27) against the Packers over the last decade. Those both blow away the second-place marks of 7.5 sacks and 16 QB hits. Those stats also come across 19 games, meaning Griffen has put a hit on Packers quarterbacks an average of 1.42 times per game in the past decade. The rivalry clearly brings out the best in him, as that average falls to 1.29 in non-Packers matchups.
