3 Most Likely Trade Destinations for Jerry Jeudy Ahead of Deadline

Updated:

This NFL season has not quite gone to plan for the Denver Broncos. The team sits at 2-5 through seven weeks of action and is quickly falling out of the AFC playoff race. The idea of dealing away a few players to acquire additional draft capital has to be creeping into the minds of Denver's front office.

One of those players may be wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. Injuries and drops have plagued Jeudy's development since he was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but the raw talent he possesses makes him a perfect trade piece. Here's a look at three of his most likely landing spots.

Jerry Jeudy Trade Destinations

1. Green Bay Packers

It's not a wide receiver trade conversation if the Packers are not involved in some way. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not been shy to express his concerns about Green Bay's receiving corps, and those concerns are something the front office has to take seriously. After all, Packers wide receivers are averaging just 9.9 yards per reception in 2022, which is tied for the fifth-lowest mark in the NFL. Jeudy is a unique kind of wide receiver in that his production comes as a result of elite route-running skills and an ability to create separation. He isn't just relying on his raw athleticism. With another full year left on his rookie deal, Jeudy could form a connection with Rodgers that rivals that of any other QB-WR duo in the NFC.

2. New York Giants

It's yet to be seen if New York will be buyers at the deadline or simply stay put as it owns a 6-1 record for the first time since 2008. Whether or not they go all-in, the Giants should at least be looking to upgrade at WR. Sterling Shepard is out for the season with a knee injury, Kenny Golladay looks like a shell of his former self and Kadarius Toney has yet to live up to expectations as a 2021 first-round pick. Jeudy's breakout year at Alabama in 2019 came with Brian Daboll serving as the Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator. Of course, he is now leading the way in New York. A reunion could give quarterback Daniel Jones the top target he desperately needs.

3. Tennessee Titans

There's an obvious theme developing here. Teams in line to compete for a playoff spot and in need of WR help are going to be in the running for Jeudy. That includes a Titans squad that has seen its WRs log just 1,103 yards this season, which ranks as the second-lowest mark in the NFL behind the Chicago Bears. Rookie Treylon Burks remains on the injured reserve, leaving veteran Robert Woods and third-year pro Nik Westbrook-Ikhine as quarterback Ryan Tannehill's top options. With an average of 15.0 yards per catch in his young career so far, Jeudy's the deep threat that Tennessee is missing.
