3 Best Prop Bets for Wisconsin vs North Texas NIT Game (Tyler Wahl Controls the Boards)

Updated:

Tuesday's NIT semifinals schedule includes a showdown between the Wisconsin Badgers and the North Texas Mean Green. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds list North Texas as a small 1.5-point favorite with the projected total set at 114.5 points. Fans are in for a great defensive showdown.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Badgers-Mean Green game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Wisconsin vs North Texas Prop Bets

1. Tyler Wahl - Rebounds: Over 5.5 (-122)

It's worth noting right off the bat that North Texas will be without Abou Ousmane, who is the team's leading rebounder (6.0 per game) and blocker (1.3 per game). The Mean Green are going to be forced to play smaller lineups, which gives Tyler Wahl of Wisconsin a chance to control the boards. Wahl is averaging a reliable 7.3 rebounds over his last 12 games and has posted at least 6 boards a total of 10 times during that span. Both Wisconsin and North Texas rank outside the top 200 teams in shooting percentage, so look for a lot of missed shots to be hauled in by Wahl.

2. Tylor Perry - To Make 3+ Threes (-152)

Tylor Perry has stepped up for the Mean Green during their NIT run, averaging a reliable 21.0 points per game on a 43.1% shooting percentage. The senior has been making his presence felt from beyond the arc more than anywhere else, draining at least a trio of three-pointers in all four games in the tournament. Perry has launched at least 8 three-point attempts in all four games as well, so the volume needed to cash this bet will be there tonight. While Wisconsin has been stellar on the defensive end of the court this year, it does allow a pedestrian 33.2% opponent three-point shooting percentage in games away from home.

3. Wisconsin Badgers Under 56.5 Points (-104)

It's hard to understate just how dominant North Texas has been on defense this season. The Mean Green rank ninth in defensive efficiency, ninth in opponent shooting percentage (39.4%) and first in points allowed per game (56.3). All they have to do tonight to what they have been doing all year long and Wisconsin should struggle to score at least 57 points. After all, the Badgers only average 65.6 points per game, which ranks 310th in the country. They have struggled to score the ball and now face a defense that has given up less than 57 points in six of its last eight games. Trust the Mean Green to put on a show.
