3 Best Prop Bets for Kraken vs Stars NHL Playoffs Game 2 on May 4 (Dallas' Top Players Make Some Noise)

Updated:

Thursday's slate of NHL postseason games includes a Game 2 showdown between the Seattle Kraken and Dallas Stars. FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NHL odds list the Stars as the -210 moneyline favorite at home with the projected total set at 5.5 goals.

Here are three of the best NHL player prop bets for the Kraken vs Stars game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Kraken vs Stars Player Props

1. Roope Hintz — Shots on Goal: Over 2.5 (-104)

Even though Roope Hintz didn't score in Game 1, the sharpshooting Finn still managed to finish with 5 shots on goal. The Stars sniper has finished with more than 2.5 shots in back-to-back outings, now hitting the Over in four of seven postseason games thus far. As one of his team's go-to players on offense, Hintz finishing with at least a trio of shots on goal isn't a big ask. Besides, he's averaging 3.1 shots in seven career meetings with the Kraken, finishing with the Over in all but two contests.

2. Philipp Grubauer — Saves: Over 27.5 (-122)

Philipp Grubauer has been a busy goaltender this postseason. The Kraken netminder has seen an average of 33.3 shots against in the playoffs, leading to an average of 27.2 saves per contest. That number is close enough to the total on this prop that I'm more than comfortable with taking the Over. For starters, Grubauer has made at least 28 saves six times this postseason, including in each of his last three starts. He'll see plenty of opportunities to make saves against the Stars, who are generating 32.1 shots per game in the playoffs. Considering how Dallas is desperate to tie the series, I expect it to fire everything it can on goal, helping Grubauer hit the Over in the process.

3. Jason Robertson — Any Time Goal Scorer (+120)

After racking up a career-high 46 goals in the regular season, Jason Robertson has been quiet in the playoffs. The 23-year-old winger has only scored twice on 25 shots heading into Game 2, but I see his fortunes changing here. First of all, the Stars need their top players like Robertson to step up after Joe Pavelski was the only player to score in Game 1. Secondly, the Arcadia, CA native plays better at home than on the road, as 62.5% of his goals this year have come at American Airlines Center. With 5 goals in his previous eight home games, Robertson is a great candidate to light the lamp tonight.
