3 Best Prop Bets for Hawks vs Jazz on Feb. 3 (Dejounte Murray Gets Held in Check)

Updated:

Friday night's NBA slate features an exciting battle between the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz. The Hawks will be looking to creep back over the .500 mark with a road victory, while the Jazz will be aiming to earn their third consecutive win. This one has the potential to go down to the wire.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Hawks-Jazz game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Hawks-Jazz Player Props

1. Dejounte Murray - Points: Under 21.5 (-106)

It's never easy to fade a player that is bound to have a significant role on the offense in any given matchup. The simple fact here is that Dejounte Murray remains the second-hand man to Trae Young on a nightly basis. Murray has scored less than 21 points in four of his last five games and the lone time he scored more than 21 points was in a game Young did not suit up for. Utah's defense is nothing to be afraid of, but it is a defense that allows the third-most points to opposing point guards. This lines up as a massive game for Young and in turn, a forgettable game for Murray. After all, the seventh-year pro averages just 14.1 points across his last 10 contests against the Jazz.

2. Lauri Markkanen - Made Threes: Over 3.5 (+114)

Don't look now, but Lauri Markkanen has developed into a lights-out shooter from beyond the arc. The sixth-year pro out of Finland is draining a career-high 43.2% of his shots from three-point range this season and averaging a reliable 3.1 makes per game. He has hit at least four three-pointers in five of his last six games and has logged a whopping 49 shots from long range during that span (8.2 per game). That kind of volume is going to come in handy against a Hawks' defense that is giving up the eighth-most points per game to opposing small forwards (22.7). Trust Markkanen to keep balling out as a first-time All-Star.

3. De'Andre Hunter - Rebounds: Under 4.5 (-148)

De'Andre Hunter has developed into an important role player for the Hawks, yet his efforts on the boards leave a lot to be desired. The Virginia product is averaging only 4.3 rebounds on the season and has been held to less than 5 rebounds in five of his last seven games. The Jazz enter Friday having controlled the boards during this campaign, averaging the sixth-most rebounds per home game (54.4). Utah is also giving up the fourth-fewest rebounds per game to opposing small forwards, so all signs point to Hunter struggling to make an impact tonight. Don't be afraid to take on the juiced odds for this prop.
