3 Best Prop Bets for Packers vs Dolphins Week 16 Christmas Game (Tua Tagovailoa Torches Green Bay)

Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season brings us more thrilling football matchups, including a Christmas Day showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins. FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists the Dolphins as the 3.5-point home favorites in this cross-conference meeting.

Packers vs Dolphins Week 16 Prop Bets

1. Tua Tagovailoa - Passing Touchdowns: Over 1.5 (-148)

The Dolphins are in the midst of a three-game losing streak in which quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has looked shaky at best. He is in desperate need of a bounce back game in order to keep Miami in the playoff picture. Green Bay has ben stout against the pass, but does allow 148.9 rushing yards per game (No. 29 in NFL). The Dolphins are going to be able to move the ball on offense and the red zone is where Tua thrives. 27 of the team's 37 offensive touchdowns this season have come through the air. Overall, Tagovailoa has tossed multiple TDs in five of his eight games since returning from an injury. This bet is worth taking on juiced odds.

2. Christian Watson - Receiving Yards: Over 52.5 (-114)

If the Packers want to keep this game close, passing the football is the way to go. Miami has posted the seventh-worst pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL and has allowed the ninth-most yards to opposing wide receivers (2,233). That bodes well for Christian Watson's chances of balling out. Watson has been on the field for at least 80% of the snaps and has seen at least 6 targets in each of his last five games. He has logged at least 46 yards in each of those games, too, and is averaging a reliable 15.4 yards per reception as a rookie. Watson's consistency combined with Miami's lack of talent in the secondary makes this a must-best prop in Week 16.

3. Anytime Touchdown Scorer: AJ Dillon (+150)

AJ Dillon is worth backing as a touchdown scorer at +150 odds for a few reasons. The Boston College product enters this game having reached the end zone in each of his last three games (4 total TDs). He has also emerged as a receiving threat with 85 yards on 9 receptions during that span. That's worth noting because the Dolphins have allowed the most receiving TDs to opposing RBs this season (6). It helps that Aaron Jones is nursing a knee injury right now, too. The Packers' coaching staff will likely opt to lean on Dillon in short yardage situations in order to preserve Jones' health. This is a prop that could cash before halftime even arrives.
