3 Best Prop Bets for Cowboys vs Buccaneers NFC Wild Card Game (Tom Brady Carves Up Dallas Defense)

3 Best Prop Bets for Cowboys vs Buccaneers NFC Wild Card Game (Tom Brady Carves Up Dallas Defense)

Updated:

The NFL Playoffs kick off with six Wild Card matchups this weekend, concluding with a clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys are listed as 2.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook, but there are a ton of different ways for bettors to get in on the action Sunday.

Here's a look at the best prop bets for the Cowboys vs Buccaneers battle, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.

Cowboys vs Buccaneers Playoff Prop Bets

1. Tom Brady - Passing Yards: Over 275.5 (-114)

This may look like a spot to fade quarterback Tom Brady given Dallas ranks third in pass defense DVOA rating this season. However, the Cowboys secondary was far from perfect in the final three games of the season. They allowed an average of 244.3 passing yards per game despite facing the inexperienced group of Gardner Minshew, Joshua Dobbs and Sam Howell. Brady has thrown for at least 276 yards in seven of Tampa Bay's nine home games this season and has tallied 744 yards across his last two games at Raymond James Stadium alone. Look for head coach Todd Bowles to try to get the run game going early in order to open up the play action game for Brady. It's a strategy that has worked against Dallas before.

2. Rachaad White - Rushing Yards: Under 35.5 (-114)

Don't overlook the legend that is Playoff Lenny. Leonard Fournette has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and scored a whopping 5 touchdowns across five playoff games with Tampa Bay. Brady has made it clear that he trusts the veteran in big spots, which makes the idea of Rachaad White seeing a ton of carries make little sense. White has rushed for less than 40 yards in five of his last six games and has seen just 55 total carries during that span (9.1 per game). Keep in mind Dallas enters ranked fifth in rush defense DVOA rating in 2022 and tied for sixth in yards allowed per carry over the last three games (3.6). Nothing points to a big game on the ground for White.

3. Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Ezekiel Elliott (+115)

Prior to a subpar outing against the Washington Commanders in Week 18, Ezekiel Elliott had scored a rushing touchdown in a ridiculous nine straight games. It was and remains one of the best prop bets to back in football. Elliott has seen at least 3 red zone touches in six of Dallas' last eight games and is constantly being relied on in short-yardage situations. That is because Zeke outweighs his RB partner Tony Pollard by about 20 pounds and that strength comes in handy when running up the middle. While Tampa Bay has been tough against the run this season, Dallas has posted the fifth-highest rushing play percentage on the road this season (48.2%). Elliott is going to get an opportunity or two to score.
