2023 XFL Season Teams, Schedule and TV Coverage

Though the NFL season is over, football fans won't have to wait long for more gridiron action to get underway. The XFL is officially back in 2023 after a hiatus, and the new-look league kicks off right after the Super Bowl.

Many are curious about the XFL as it returns to TV. Here's everything you need to know about the XFL's upcoming 2023 season.

2023 XFL Teams

This reboot of the XFL will feature a roster of eight teams during the 2023 campaign. They are: the Arlington Renegades, Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas, D.C. Defenders, Seattle Sea Dragons, St. Louis BattleHawks and Vegas Vipers.

Each team was scheduled to have 50-man rosters, but the league decided to up that number to 51. This will allow each squad to dress three quarterbacks on game days, instead of the usual two that is used in the NFL.

2023 XFL Season Schedule

The 2023 XFL season officially begins on Saturday, Feb. 18. The regular season will go from Feb. 18 to April 23. Each team will play 10 regular-season games, facing the three teams in their division two times each, plus one contest against each team in the other division.

The 2023 XFL playoffs are slated to start on April 29. Only four of the league's eight teams will qualify for the postseason. These two semifinal games will take place on April 29 and April 30, and the winners of each will meet in the championship on May 13.

2023 XFL Season TV Channels and Streaming Info

There are several ways for football fans to watch the 2023 XFL season. The league has partnered with ABC, ESPN and ESPN 2, and FX to broadcast games throughout the regular and postseason. These channels will split coverage during 2023, with ABC showing seven games, ESPN and ESPN2 showing 22 games, and FX showing 15 games.

Every XFL game throughout the year is also scheduled to stream on ESPN+. There will be a total of 43 contests during the 2023 season between the regular season, playoffs and championship.
