RBC Heritage Open Field

A field of 146 players includes rare appearances by Masters champion Jon Rahm, PLAYERS champion Scottie Scheffler and reigning FedExCup champ Rory McIlroy. Defending RBC Heritage champion Jordan Spieth adds to the strongest field in the event's history along with Patrick Cantlay, who lost in a playoff last year on Pete Dye's beautiful course that rewards accuracy, shot-shaping and ball-striking.

Add in Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, Sam Burns, Sungjae Im and last year's T3 finishers at Harbour Town in Cameron Young and Shane Lowry, and you have a stacked field in Hilton Head competing for the plaid jacket.

Nine of the top 10 in the world golf rankings and all top 30 players in the FedExCup standings (as of April 8) will take their positional shots on a narrow, tree-lined track that is a true test of accuracy and short-game skills with the smallest greens on Tour.

RBC Heritage Picks & Predictions

Following last week's Masters Tournament at Augusta, the PGA pros head just 140 miles southeast to Hilton Head Island and an upgraded Designated Event for the 55th edition of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. Justin Thomas will do so after missing the cut at The Masters for the first time in his career. Thomas finished T8 here in 2020 and showed he can really go low, shooting a 63 on that Sunday.

Thomas also won the 2021 PLAYERS Championship on Pete Dye's comp course at TPC Sawgrass. Prior to last week's Masters, Thomas was gaining strokes Tee-to-Green at an elite rate, and he also ranks No. 1 in strokes gained Around-the-Green over his last 50 rounds.

Thomas looks like a solid fit at Harbour Town. His strong Short Game, Scrambling strength and shot-shaping off the tee with fewer drivers in hand will have him contending if he makes more putts this week. The best odds on Thomas to win this year make the 29-year-old, 15-time PGA Tour winner a player to consider when wagering to win.

Pick: Justin Thomas to Win (+2500) and/or Finish Top 10
