Honda Classic Field

Most of the top touring pros are off this week following back-to-back elevated events at the Phoenix Open and The Genesis Invitational, and two big tournaments on deck for the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship.

The opening event on the Florida Swing drew fewer top players and is led by 2020 Honda champion Sungjae Im (No. 18), No. 19 Billy Horschel and No. 20 Shane Lowry, who finished runner-up in the 2022 Honda Classic. The 2022 Honda Classic winner Sepp Straka returns and is currently ranked No. 31 in the world to join other top 50 OWGR players in Aaron Wise, Alex Noren, Min Woo Lee and Chris Kirk.

Honda Classic Picks & Predictions

Aaron Wise shot a pair of 64's here in 2021 and led the Honda by 3-shots through 36 holes. The 2018 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year has played 14 rounds at PGA National, and Wise ranks top-30 in Strokes Gained: Total, Tee-to-Green, Ball Striking and Approach at the Champion Course. His putting has improved dramatically the past year, and the 26-year-old has 16 top 10 finishes on Tour. He enters off a pair of missed cuts his last two events, but Wise was also playing poorly before his solid play here in 2021 when he ultimately finished T-13. Wise has a ton of talent and fits a top-end profile in this field with difficult scoring conditions stats, bogey avoidance and scrambling.

Bet: Aaron Wise (+2700) to win.
