The Farmers Insurance Open Field

The Farmers Insurance Open features five of the top 10 players in the world golf rankings, including last week's The American Express winner Jon Rahm along with Xander Schauffele, Will Zalatoris, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.

The full field list also includes Tony Finau, Max Homa and Sungjae Im from the top 20 in the world. The golfers will play the North and South course on Wednesday and Thursday, and those who make the cut will play the South Course on Friday and Saturday.

The American Express Picks & Predictions

Rahm appears on a mission to regain the No. 1 world ranking. He entered last week at No. 3 and is looking to make a jump in the rankings. The 28-year-old Spaniard has five top-10 finishes, including a win at the Farmers Insurance Open. He tops the field in Total Strokes Gained at Torrey Pines South and also won the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

One of the longest courses on Tour, the South Course will benefit big hitters. This week it will play even longer with thicker rough as there has been more rain ahead of the event. Add in narrow fairways and tricky Poa greens, and Rahm's strengths -- Tee-to-Green and on Approach -- on the South Course should have him contending again.

While there is no value on Rahm's low odds to win, his odds were even lower last week. He plays a course that suits his strengths and he's had past success at Torrey Pines, making him a good bet this week.

Bet: Jon Rahm To Win (+390)
