Action is heating up at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, for the 2022 3M Open. Early into Round 2, Emiliano Grillo sits atop the leaderboard at 8-under-par, while Tony Finau, Scott Piercy and Sungjae Im have played to 6-under-par. Grillo and Finau are midway through their second rounds, but Piercy and Im tee off this afternoon.

Unfortunately, only 65 players (and those tied in that final group) will advance past Friday's rounds. With that in mind, let's check out an official guideline and explanation to the 2022 3M Open cut rules and cut line.

What is the Cut for the 3M Open?

The 3M Open cut line is put into place following the first two rounds at TPC Twin Cities on Thursday and Friday. The field is trimmed down to 65 players heading into the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

Those top 65 players, and any players tied in the bottom group, will advance.

3M Open Projected Cut

As of Friday afternoon, approximately at 12 p.m. ET, the projected cut at the 2022 3M Open sits at 1-over-par. Currently, 77 players are at least even for the tournament and would advance into Saturday's Round 3.

How Many Players Make The Cut at 2022 3M Open?

The 3M Open cut rule trims down the weekend's field to just 65 players, with ties. The official cut line has not yet been set, but projections hold at 1-over-par.

Some notable players, including Adam Svensson and Cameron Tringale are in danger of missing the cut.
