Prediction

The Sun have shocked the basketball world by getting off to a 3-0 start to the 2023 campaign. They're in for an extremely tough test this afternoon, though. The Liberty have one of the most talented rosters in the WNBA, highlighted by their +140 odds (No. 2) to win this season's championship on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Sun have had their fun, but it's time to be brought back down to earth. The Liberty have the best player in the game in Breanna Stewart, who led the WNBA in points last season and is already averaging 28.5 PPG on 58.1% shooting in her first two outings. After she recorded a 45-point effort in her last outing, I expect more big things.

Keeping that in mind, expect a Liberty win as well as Stewart to hit the Over on her projected total of 23.5 points.

Prediction

This game is the second one between these teams over the last three days. The Aces held their heads high two nights ago, walking out of Los Angeles with the 94-85 win over the Sparks. Las Vegas finished with impressive .525/.435/.786 shooting splits while taking advantage of L.A.'s mistakes, scoring 22 points off 11 turnovers.

I don't see the result of this game being any different from the last. The Aces are the better team and tonight marks their home opener, meaning they'll be even more motivated to send the crowd home happy. Considering how the Sparks were an abysmal 6-12 straight up on the road last season, I don't like their chances of winning at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Nevertheless, the Sparks did make things competitive at times during the last outing, so I'm not a fan of the 15.5-point spread. The Aces will still win, just not by as much as the oddsmakers project.
