Week 5 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Dolphins vs Jets

Updated:
The Miami Dolphins will aim to avoid a divisional road loss with a new quarterback leading the way when they visit the New York Jets in Week 5. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Dolphins as 3-point favorites in a game that is expected to come down to the wire.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 5 AFC East showdown.
Teddy Bridgewater Fantasy
Start Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Miami Dolphins: It's safe to say that fantasy managers rostering Tua Tagovailoa are looking for a new quarterback after the Dolphins' star went down with a head injury in Week 4. They may not even have to stray from Miami's roster, though. Teddy Bridgewater is set to take over and anyone playing with wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is going to have some upside in fantasy football. Bridgewater has thrown 72 touchdowns compared to 44 interceptions across 75 career games (63 starts). That suggests his floor is relatively high, especially against a Jets defense that is giving up the 11th-most fantasy points to opposing QBs.
Garrett Wilson Fantasy
Start Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets: It hasn't taken long for rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson to emerge as one of the best offensive weapons on the Jets. In fact, he leads the team in targets (39), while ranking second in receptions (20) and receiving yards (255) through four weeks of action. With a spread set at just 3 points, it's anticipated that New York will be able to keep this game close. That means Wilson will be running routes until the final whistle blows against a Dolphins' defense that is giving up the seventh-most PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs. That makes the 22-year-old well worth a start on Sunday.
Chase Edmonds Fantasy
Sit Chase Edmonds, RB, Miami Dolphins: Chase Edmonds' 3 touchdowns scored over the last two weeks is hiding the fact that he may no longer lead Miami's backfield. In Week 4, Edmonds saw just 7 touches and played in 28% of the offensive snaps. Meanwhile, veteran Raheem Mostert saw 17 touches and played in 72% of the offensive snaps. Edmonds has been out-snapped by Mostert in each of the last three weeks now and seeing that change in Week 5 would be surprising at this point. The Jets have only allowed 4 total touchdowns to opposing RBs so far, which caps Edmonds' ceiling and makes him a bench candidate this week.
Michael Carter Fantasy
Sit Michael Carter, RB, New York Jets: Michael Carter finds himself in a very similar situation to Edmonds. A clear-cut starter has emerged in New York and it's not him. Carter has been out-snapped and out-touched by rookie running back Breece Hall in each of his last two games played. It makes sense because Carter is only averaging 3.7 yards per carry on the year and has failed to score a touchdown despite seeing 7 red zone touches. Miami is allowing the seventh-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs, so Carter should not see the starting lineup in any way this week.
