Week 4 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Patriots vs Packers

Week 4 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Patriots vs Packers

Updated:

Week 4 of the NFL season includes a potentially lopsided matchup when the New England Patriots travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. With quarterback Mac Jones suffering from a high-ankle sprain and unlikely to suit up for the Patriots, the Packers are favored by a whopping 9.5 points at home on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 4 showdown between New England and Green Bay.

Aaron Jones Fantasy

Start Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers: This season has been a rollercoaster ride for Jones' fantasy managers, as he's sandwiched a pair of underwhelming games around a monster Week 2 performance. It's worth noting that his Week 2 explosion, which produced 170 scrimmage yards and 2 touchdowns, came at home against an inferior Chicago Bears team. The elite pass-catching back should feast in Week 4, considering New England has allowed 113 receiving yards to running backs this year. New England also ranks just 29th in Football Outsiders' rush-defense DVOA metric, and both of Green Bay's RBs should have a good day.

Damien Harris Fantasy

Start Damien Harris, RB, New England Patriots: It's tough to recommend any New England pass catchers with Brian Hoyer expected to be under center, but you should still be able to trust the Patriots' running backs here. Expect New England to keep the ball on the ground as much as possible and limit Hoyer's throwing, which should benefit Harris. Harris has scored a touchdown in each of the last two weeks and is a good bet to score again here as Bill Belichick's preferred goal-line back over Rhamondre Stevenson. Harris should be good for at least 10-15 carries with a potential score, making him a solid RB2/FLEX option.

Randall Cobb Fantasy

Sit Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers: You may be tempted to start Cobb after seeing that his receiving yards have increased every week, but there's a good chance that trend ends in Week 4. The volume just hasn't been there for the 32-year-old wideout, who hasn't been targeted more than three times in a game this year. He's broken loose for a few big chunk plays but has yet to find the end zone. The risk far outweighs the reward here, so stay away from Cobb and his low floor if possible.

DeVante Parker Fantasy

Sit DeVante Parker, WR, New England Patriots: Parker finally arrived for the Patriots in Week 3, hauling in 5-of-10 targets for 156 receiving yards. Unfortunately for him, Jones is unlikely to play on Sunday, which severely reduces Parker's fantasy value. He was MIA during the first two weeks with just 1 catch for 9 yards on 4 targets combined, so he's been the definition of boom-or-bust this year. We expect him to bust with Hoyer under center, as Hoyer will likely be more comfortable throwing to old teammates Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor. Parker is poised for a quiet game against a stingy Packers defense that's allowed the seventh-fewest passing yards and eighth-fewest passing touchdowns this season.
