The Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans meet head-to-head in Summer League action on Friday night. The Lakers earned their first victory in Las Vegas on Tuesday by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers, 83-72. Mason Jones led the way with a double-double off the bench (15 points, 10 rebounds).

Meanwhile, New Orleans took down the Washington Wizards by a score of 106-88 on Wednesday. Five players scored in double-digits, but it was Deividas Survydis that put on the biggest show. The 2019 draft pick dropped 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals off the bench (6-for-10 from three-point range).

Lakers vs Pelicans Prediction & Pick

The Lakers have shown a lot of improvement. They went from losing to the Suns by 20, to losing to the Hornets by 3, to beating the Clippers by 11. The continued struggles of 2022 draft pick Max Christie has to be concerning, though. He is shooting 25.0% from the floor across three games (7-for-28).

New Orleans was leaning on Trey Murphy III through the first two games as he scored a combined 53 points. He has since been shut down, which puts the pressure on others to step up. Sirvydis did just that on Wednesday as did Daeqwon Plowden (18 points) and Jared Harper (18 points).

The Pelicans still have a lot to play for, so I'll back them to cover the -3.5 spread (-105).
