Keeneland Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 4/19/23

Updated:
The three-week Keeneland Spring Meet continues Wednesday with 9 races and post time of 1:00 p.m. ET.
As always, check the program for scratches and changes, monitor the weather and keep an eye on the track conditions.
(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races after adjusting for track, distances, and conditions).
Keeneland Betting Picks
According to numberFire horse racing projections and Guaranteed Tip Sheet, these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.
1. Up and Down and Make the Boys Wink, Race 4
FanDuel Racing Odds: 7/2 and 5/2

Race 4 is a Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-old fillies at 1-mile on the turf. A full field of 12 and Make the Boys Wink (5/2) is the favorite and projected to hit the board by both numberFire's data and Guaranteed Tip Sheet. She's ridden by the meets leading jockey Tyler Gaffalione, who is dominating turf races with 6 wins in 15 starts and also cashing in on post time favorites at a 54% win rate. Make the Boys Wink finished a hard-charging second last month from off the pace as the favorite.
Up and Down (7/2) is a top challenger in her second start and 2023 debut with top jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding for EPO trainer Chad Brown. Boltoro (9/2) is the top pick if he draws into the race from the also-eligible list. She's finished second in her two starts this year at Fair Grounds with improved speed from off the pace.
2. Evan Harlan and Always Above, Race 6
FanDuel Racing Odds: 9/5 and 3/1

Race 6 is a featured Allowance race for older horses going a route at 1 1/2 miles on the turf. Evan Harlan (9/5) is the favorite and top pick by numberFire's data. Strong stretch rider Joel Rosario rides, looking to hold off main challengers on the outside of GTS top pick Always Above (3/1) and Master of the Ring (4/1) with Tyler Gaffalione riding.
Mount Rundle (8/1) is working well off a third place finish last month at Turfway Park, and also finished third last fall in a Grade 3 race. Solid Country Gold (20/1) is interesting as a longshot in the trifecta running back just one week after improved speed and a fourth place finish here.
3. Callie's Grit and Reconsider Me, Race 8
FanDuel Racing Odds: 6/1 and 4/1

Race 8 is a Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-old fillies at 1-mile on the turf. The sentimental choice and numberFire win challenger is Callie's Grit (6/1) with Tyler Gafflalione up. She's named after Callie Witt by her trainer Joe Sharp. Miss Witt was an exercise rider who died the morning of April 29, 2022 from a tragic accident on the synthetic training track at Keeneland.
Callie's Grit won her maiden debut last year and then missed in a stakes race. Frontal Attack (3/1) makes her debut with Irad Ortiz, Jr. riding for trainer Chad Brown. And Reconsider Me (4/1) is numberFire's preferred pick making her US debut and second start with good speed and Johnny V. riding.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
