Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Outlook Booming After Thursday's Injury Update

Updated:

After missing Week 5 with a knee injury, it appears Jonathan Taylor may be ready to return for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6. Taylor participated in practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice, indicating that he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's divisional matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Outlook

This is encouraging news for Taylor's fantasy managers, who had to find a replacement for him in Week 5. It's virtually impossible to replace his production, however, given that he's one of the top running backs in the NFL.

Taylor's potential return is also good timing with bye weeks starting in Week 6, which are leaving fantasy GMs even more shorthanded.

Assuming Taylor doesn't suffer any setbacks and practices again on Friday, he should be good to go for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. The third-year pro has owned the Jaguars throughout his career, averaging 104.4 rushing yards per game against them.

Hopefully the time off will help Taylor return to form, as he clearly wasn't right in Week 4. The 23-year-old managed just 42 rushing yards on 20 carries, averaging a meager 2.1 yards per attempt.

With the benefit of extra rest, Taylor will look to reclaim his status as one of the best backs in fantasy football. He's rated as the RB2 on The Duel's Week 6 PPR rankings.
