Here's How the Bills Can Clinch Home-Field Advantage in Playoffs This Week

The Buffalo Bills took care of business in Week 16, dispatching the Chicago Bears, 35-13, in a lopsided affair. That victory helped Buffalo lock up its third straight AFC East title, but this team has its sights set much higher.

The Bills now have the opportunity to clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs in Week 17.

It's quite simple for Buffalo: a win against the Cincinnati Bengals and a loss by the Kansas City Chiefs would make the Bills the AFC's No. 1 seed in the postseason. The NFL's expanded playoff system makes the top seed a major advantage since that team is the only one in each conference that earns a bye during the Wild Card Round.

Buffalo and KC are currently tied with 12-3 records heading into Week 17. However, the Bills' win against the Chiefs earlier this year has given them an important leg up on their rivals if they both end the season with identical marks.

A win won't come easy for Buffalo this week with Cincinnati on tap. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds peg the Bills as slight 1.5-point road favorites ahead of this Monday Night Football clash.

Kansas City, meanwhile, draws the lowly Denver Broncos, who just fired a large chunk of their coaching staff. The Chiefs are huge 13.5-point home favorites in that game, so Buffalo must earn another victory to remain in the driver's seat.
