Heat Reveal First Look at Kevin Love in New Uniform

Updated:

Every year when the NBA trade deadline comes and goes, there are always some players that get bought out and become free agents. Usually, they are fringe bench players or veterans that don't really have a role or place on their team anymore. This gives the veteran the chance to pick a new team and most likely join a winning franchise for the playoff push.

Kevin Love fell into that category this season after seeing his role disappear with a young Cleveland Cavaliers team. Love was bought out by the Cavs and subsequently signed a contract with the Miami Heat.

While we already got a first look at Love in the Heat's practice facility, we are now getting a first glance at Love in his Miami uniform wearing his traditional number 42.

It's interesting to see Love's first look in the retro Heat uniform, especially wearing number 42 -- a jersey and number synonymous with another fan favorite from those tough late-90s Miami teams, P.J. Brown.

The Heat needed frontcourt depth, so Love was a perfect addition for them. He's currently averaging 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in just 20 minutes per game, so he should be able to help his new teammates down the stretch as they look to make another run in the postseason.

Miami is currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, 0.5 games behind the New York Knicks for the sixth and final guaranteed playoff spot.
