Texans Primetime Games 2023

The Texans are one of four NFL teams (Falcons, Colts and Cardinals) without a single primetime game during the 2023-24 campaign.

Texans Week 1 Opponent for 2023 Season

The Houston Texans' Week 1 matchup for the 2023 campaign is a road game against the Baltimore Ravens. Last season, they opened with a home game against the Indianapolis Colts. After regulation and a 10-minute overtime, their clash ended in a 20-20 tie.

Texans' 2023 Strength of Schedule

According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Texans have the sixth-easiest schedule in the NFL for the 2023-24 campaign. This is based on the projected win totals of Houston's opponents for the upcoming season.

The Texans' 2023-24 opponents went a combined 103-133-1 last season. They'll face just two teams (Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens) that posted 10 wins or more in 2022.

FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Texans at 6.5 wins, with +100 on the over and -122 on the under. Houston has posted four victories or fewer in each of the past three seasons.

Despite making two major additions via Bryce Young and Will Anderson in the draft, the Texans still have a long way to go. Rookie quarterbacks often go through season-long learning curves, so there's no reason to believe Young will hit the ground running, especially with a suspect wide receiver corps.

Their defense, meanwhile, has added some nice veterans in free agency, but it's tough to see a huge turnaround. Expect the rebuilding Texans to be near the bottom of the standings once again in 2023.

Bet – Texans: Under 6.5 Wins (-122)

In the Super Bowl market, the Texans are currently tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the worst odds at +18000. The Indianapolis Colts are right above them at +10000, so it's not a promising outlook for Houston right now.
