FanDuel Sportsbook Reveals Most-Bet Teams in Each Major Sport

Thursday, May 14 marks the two year anniversary of legal sports betting in the United States. FanDuel Sportsbook is celebrating by sharing some interesting insights into the betting action they've seen since their 2018 launch.

This information includes a top-five list of which teams get bet on the most in each of the four major sports.

There's an interesting combination of factors that seems to propel teams to the tops of these lists.

Being a popular, big-market team with a great reputation certainly seems to help. The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Lakers, for example, probably would have been everyone's first guesses for the most-bet MLB and NBA teams.

It looks like bettors enjoy getting action in on the favorites, too. The Milwaukee Bucks (No. 2 on the NBA list) and Kansas City chiefs (No. 1 for NFL) aren't exactly big-market teams, but they're both among the best in their respective leagues. The Chiefs just won the Super Bowl and the Bucks are still favored to win the NBA Championship.

It's always fun to get a peek behind the curtain, and the anniversary of the long-awaited legalization of sports betting is certainly an occasion to celebrate.
