As always, check the program for scratches and changes, check the weather and keep an eye on the track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions).

Ellis Park Betting Picks

According to numberFire horse racing projections and Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS), these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today. The best value option will not necessarily be the top pick(s).

1. Grand Love and Mo Town Mayhem, Race 7

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 7/2

Race 7 is an Allowance race for 3-year-old fillies at 6 1/2 furlongs. The numberFire data rates the favorite Grand Love (5/2) best for trainer Steve Asmussen. She drops down after running in five-straight graded stakes with a pair of third-place finishes. Guaranteed Tip Sheet has her finishing just behind Mo Town Mayhem (7/2) with the meets top jockey Tyler Gaffalione riding. Willow Bend (5/1) has a sharp 4-furlong work in place. She is the only horse of 9 in the race eligible for the optional $100k claiming tag. She won back in March on an All-Weather track but missed the board in two starts since.

2. Principle d'Oro and Policy Option, Race 8

FanDuel Racing Odds: 7/2 and 8/1

Race 8 is an Allowance race with a full field of 10 going 1 mile on the turf. The tepid favorite is Principe d'Oro (7/2) with leading jockey Flavien Prat riding for top trainer Todd Pletcher. He's a win contender, according to numberFire and Guaranteed Tip Sheet and GTS also includes Policy Option (8/1). Tyler Gaffalione rides Gamer (6/1) from the rail. He's got a pair of bullet works in place and tries to beat winners for the first time.

3. Matareya and Socient, Race 9

FanDuel Racing Odds: 4/5 and 2/1

Race 9 is the $225,000 Grade 3 Chicago Stakes for older fillies and mares at 7 furlongs. Low payoff potential. One of the top female sprinters in the country is Matareya (4/5), and she's a top win contender pick by numberFire and GTS. Flavien Prat rides for EPO trainer Brad Cox. Society (2/1) is a main challenger with Tyler Gaffalione riding for trainer Steve Asmussen.
