AJ Brown Tweets Funny Response to 'Random' Drug Test From NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 7-0 with a dominant Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. A huge part of that win was wide receiver AJ Brown's monster day. The star wideout hauled in 6 catches for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns.
AJ Brown Drug Test
After such a big day, it's curious to see that Brown received word on Monday he would be subjected to a "random" drug test.
The timing of the drug test seems convenient, coming hours after Brown put up such a huge game statistically. It seems like this happens a lot in the NFL. A player has a big game, or has some incredible physical feat on the field, then boom, drug test.
While the logic behind it may seem sound from the NFL's point of view, the fact they still shamelessly label it as "random" is what makes it so funny. Just own it, say you want to make sure there is no chance of steroid usage, instead of pretending that the guy who just went off just happens to be randomly selected.
Luckily for the players and the league, these random tests rarely result in a positive test. Brown and the Eagles will be hoping for the same, especially since Brown has been enjoying a fantastic season in his first with the Eagles. He has 39 catches for 659 yards and 5 touchdowns.
The Eagles, regardless of the test results, are preparing for a Week 9 matchup against the Houston Texans. Philadelphia is a 13-point road favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
