Hit Show was blazing along with fast speed figures. He started strong in the opening mile of the Kentucky Derby before flattening out and finishing fifth. National Treasure is one of the top leading contenders after winning the Preakness Stakes, but he's not as strong of a dark horse as Arkansas Derby winner and third-place Kentucky Derby finisher Angel of Empire. Top trainer Brad Cox adds blinkers to his Classic Empire colt, and Angel of Empire has proven to be versatile with his strong turn of foot helping him through various pace scenarios. He's won twice this year and finished in-the-money in all four stakes starts at different race tracks.
