Though they're 2-1 in their last three games, the past week or so has not been kind to the New York Mets. Prior to that three-game stretch, the Mets were losers of five straight, and star outfielder Yoenis Céspedes surprisingly elected to opt out of the season.

As a result, the team's odds to win the 2020 World Series have taken a real hit, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

As of Tuesday, Aug. 4, the Mets were available at +2000 to win it all, giving them the seventh-best odds in the MLB at the time. However, they've already fallen to +2500, tying them with the Cincinnati Reds for the 11th-best odds in baseball.

Currently sitting at 5-8 and in fourth place in the NL East, New York is already facing an uphill climb to get into playoff contention this season. That certainly doesn't bode well for the team's chances at a World Series.
