The Texas Rangers are surprising many this season, with guys all over the roster playing above their projections. Possibly the biggest surprise of all has been 32-year-old pitcher Lance Lynn. After a slow start to the season, in which he went 2-2 with a 6.51 ERA in his first five games, Lynn has become one of the most reliable starters in the American League and needs to be picked up in fantasy leagues where he's available.

Coming off a nine-strikeout game, Lynn is one of the hottest pickups in fantasy baseball. However, he is still owned in just 58 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Through his four June outings, Lynn has a 2-0 record, with a 2.84 ERA, 32 strikeouts and a 1.026 WHIP. Even with his slow start to the season, Lynn is ranked as the 28th highest-scoring pitcher in fantasy, which puts him above players like Madison Bumgarner, Wade Miley and Gerrit Cole, who all have the same amount of starts.

After a 4.77 ERA last season and playing in a hitter-friendly park, Lynn was simply an afterthought in fantasy heading into this season. Take advantage of this, and his 58 percent ownership, because he is a must-own fantasy pitcher going forward.
