The Miami Dolphins sent shockwaves through the NFL by firing third-year head coach Brian Flores on Monday. Flores' dismissal immediately turned into rumors and speculation that the Dolphins could go after Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh as a potential replacement.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross responded to those rumors immediately on Monday morning, quelling any potential excitement for Dolphins fans.

Dolphins Head Coach Rumors

Ross summed it up simply, saying "I'm not going to be the person to take Jim Harbaugh from the University of Michigan." As a Michigan alum, his statement obviously holds weight given his connections to the university spurred many of these rumors.

Flores' firing came as a shock after the Dolphins finished their 2021 campaign on the highest of notes. Miami did miss the postseason, but rattled off eight wins in their last nine games of the season.

Harbaugh additionally finished the 2021 college football season on a high note. Although Michigan suffered a tough College Football Playoff Semifinal loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, Harbaugh put together his most successful season with the Wolverines, winning nine games and Michigan's first Big Ten Championship since 2004.
