Alabama came up just short of winning its second consecutive National Championship in 2021. All eyes now turn toward the upcoming NFL Draft as a number of Crimson Tide players are expected to be selected. The biggest way for them to get their names out there is by participating in the combine.
The NFL combine is set to take place from March 1 to March 7. Potential No. 1 overall pick Evan Neal has already announced he will not be attending and wide receiver Jameson Williams is still recovering from a knee injury. However, there are still plenty of top NFL Draft prospects to watch throughout the festivities.
Here's a look at three Alabama players that will turn heads at the combine.
Alabama NFL Combine
1. Brian Robinson, RB
Brian Robinson will be looking to add his name to a long list of successful NFL running backs that came from head coach Nick Saban's program — A list that includes the likes of Derrick Henry, Najee Harris and Josh Jacobs. Robinson is not projected to go until later in the draft, but his pure power should be on full display in Indianapolis. The 6-foot-1, 225 pound ball-carrier consistently ran through opposing defenders on his way to racking up 1,343 rushing yards this past season. Robinson's ability to change direction on a dime should allow him to excel at a number of RB drills, too. Don't be surprised if his draft stock rises a bit.
2. Josh Jobe, DB
Alabama's defense flew a bit under the radar this season as quarterback Bryce Young stole the show in a Heisman-winning campaign. The Crimson Tide only allowed just 10.8 yards per completion (T-No. 10 in NCAA) and the play of defensive back Josh Jobe was a major reason why. The 23-year-old racked up 2 interceptions and 4 pass breakups during his senior season. Jobe's length allows him to take on even the biggest pass-catchers in coverage and his speed gives him an advantage in vertical routes. Both of those aspects of his game should come to light during the combine. A great performance could mean Jobe sneaks into the early rounds.
3. Christian Harris, LB
Alabama linebackers have proven to be no joke and Christian Harris is the latest bruiser capable of making the jump to the NFL. He only got better with each passing season and broke out in 2021 with 80 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 3 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles. Harris is expected to be one of the best testers at the combine given the combination of speed and length he possesses. The way he can shoot through gaps and go sideline to sideline makes him a player to watch during the 40-yard dash. Harris is already a household name among scouters, but he can make himself a household name across the country this next week.
