Richard Sherman has been the most consistently dominant cornerback in the NFL since he came into the league in 2011.
Far from being a gatekeeper, however, Sherman has decided to use his status to help build up the young stars at the position. That includes Buffalo Bills all-pro Tre'Davious White.
It certainly helps that White was the one to engage with praise, but it's still great to see Sherman respond in kind. And he's not wrong, White's season was pretty legendary: he had 6 interceptions, gave up 0 touchdowns and only allowed a 45.0 passer rating on the 90 throws in which he was targeted in coverage.
One of Sherman's most famous moments is still his "sorry ass receiver" comments about Michael Crabtree, so some fans may be surprised by the kindness he showed in this exchange. Off the field, though, Sherman has always been a class act.
Bills fans have to be excited seeing Sherman so high on White's play, and they will certainly hope that White can at least approach Sherman's level of sustained dominance over his career.
