The Vipers have an offense filled with names that will get fans reminiscing. Former Green Bay Packer Brett Hundley is expected start at quarterback and his receiving corps includes the likes of Geronimo Allison and Martavis Bryant. Vegas is far from experienced on the defensive side of the ball, though.

That is going to be an issue considering Stoops has one of the more proven running backs leading his team. De'Veon Smith posted an XFL-best 365 rushing yards back in 2020 and averaged 4.1 yards per carry. Punter Marquette King and cornerback De'Vante Bausby are other notable Renegades.

Week 1 comes down to coaching and talent. I trust Stoops to have a game plan filled with surprising plays and downfield passes to combat the issues his team faced in 2020. That should frustrate a Vegas defense that features players who haven't suited up for a few years. Arlington pulls out a win.
