Saints Get Great News on Michael Thomas Injury Update

Updated:

The New Orleans Saints are still banged up, but they're finally getting healthier.

After getting Alvin Kamara back in Week 5, the Saints expect another key offensive player to return in Week 6.

Michael Thomas Injury Update

Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that wide receiver Michael Thomas will likely suit up for New Orleans' Week 6 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals. Thomas is dealing with a toe injury that has caused him to miss Weeks 4 and 5.

This is great news for the Saints, who can look forward to getting their All-Pro receiver back for a tough matchup against the defending AFC champions. Thomas was the team's leading receiver before going down, racking up 171 yards and 3 touchdowns on 16 catches.

With Kamara and Thomas back in the fold, New Orleans' offense is slowly returning to full strength. It's still unclear if quarterback Jameis Winston will be active in Week 6 after missing Weeks 4 and 5 with a back injury. If he remains unavailable, backup QB Andy Dalton is in line to draw another start.

Thomas and Dalton have yet to play together this year, so they'll need to get on the same page in practice next week if Thomas is going to pick up where he left off. The Saints are currently 1-point home underdogs against the Bengals on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
