Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season includes an NFC North showdown between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. The Lions hope to build their momentum following a 36-27 win over the Washington Commanders. Jared Goff put on a show with four touchdown passes while wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown had 184 total yards from scrimmage and two TDs.

On the flip side, a 24-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday has the Vikings looking to rebound. Minnesota just couldn't generate any offense, tallying only 264 total yards, which wasn't helped by the fact that Kirk Cousins handed out three interceptions.

Lions vs Vikings Prediction & Pick

While the Vikings have dominated this rivalry lately, it was actually the Lions who won their last game, 29-27, against their NFC North rival in Week 13 of 2021. With Detroit being a much better team this season, I like the Lions' odds of pulling off a road upset this week.

Even with the Vikings having a superstar like Justin Jefferson on offense, Cousins looked putrid on Monday. Detroit's pass rush has been solid this season and with its offensive line looking great on the other side of the ball, I see the Lions surprising a lot of people with their next performance.

Final Score Prediction: Lions: 27 | Vikings: 24

Lions vs Vikings Betting Trends

- Detroit is 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last eight games against the NFC.
- Minnesota is 2-7 straight up in its last nine games played in September.
- The total has hit the over in four of Detroit's last five games.
- The total has hit the under in eight of Minnesota's last nine home games against Detroit.

Lions vs Vikings Best Bet

The Lions play with a ton of heart under Dan Campbell and are capable of pulling off an upset on any given night. Momentum is on Detroit's side entering Week 2 and with Minnesota looking questionable at best after its last loss, back the Lions as +200 underdogs on the moneyline.

Bet: Lions ML (+200)
