  • Time: 9:30 p.m. ET

The Kraken made their postseason debut in style on Tuesday, shocking NHL enthusiasts with a 3-1 win over the Avalanche. Eeli Tolvanen, Alex Wennberg and Morgan Geekie each scored for Seattle while goaltender Philipp Grubauer was a brick wall, making 34-of-35 saves.

Can the Kraken prove that lightning can strike twice? Or will the Avalanche prove to the world exactly why they won last year's Stanley Cup?

Kraken vs Avalanche Betting Trends

  • Seattle is 10-3 straight up in its last 13 road games.
  • Colorado is 12-3 straight up in its last 15 games against the Western Conference.
  • The total has hit the under in five of Seattle's last six games.
  • The total has hit the under in each of Colorado's last five games against Seattle.

Kraken vs Avalanche Prediction & Pick

Even though the Avalanche lost Game 1, they still did some things correctly. They outshot the Kraken 35-30 and also had the edge in the faceoff circle, winning 56.4% of draws. Things could've gone differently had Grubauer not stood on his head. Keeping that in mind, the Seattle goaltender has an unimpressive .900 save percentage in his last eight meetings with Colorado.

The Avalanche are too good to fall into a hole in this series. The likes of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar have already been to the top of the mountain and know how to battle adversity. Although the Kraken's victory was impressive, they still have much to learn about the postseason.

In another gritty game, back the Avalanche to get their win back.

Final Score Prediction: Avalanche: 3 | Kraken: 2

Kraken vs Avalanche Best Bet

Even though I see the Avalanche winning, I'm going with the Kraken on the 1.5-goal spread. Seattle proved that it could handle the defending champions in Game 1, so another upset win isn't out of the question. Furthermore, five of the last six Kraken-Avalanche matchups have been decided by one goal, so even if Colorado wins, I don't see it being by a multi-goal margin.

Bet: Kraken +1.5 (-142)
