Kentucky Derby 2023 Horse Odds, Trainers and Jockeys by Post Position

Monday brought horse racing fans one step closer to the 2023 Kentucky Derby. The official post position draw was held during the afternoon, so the field is set for Saturday's event.

Tapit Trice drew the favorable No. 5 spot for this year's Kentucky Derby. This position is the only in race history to produce at least 10 winners, with the most recent being Always Dreaming in 2017. Early favorite Forte, meanwhile, will start from the No. 15 spot. This position has produced six Derby winners, including 2020 champion Authentic.
