Darren Waller's Latest Injury Update is Encouraging for Raiders Following the Tight End's Return From IR

Updated:

Darren Waller has been out with a hamstring injury since Week 5, now coming off Injured Reserve. There was talk that he might suit up for Week 14, but head coach Josh McDaniels was hesitant to put him on the field without much practice time beforehand.

Waller himself now says he's "on track" to play in Week 15. This provides Waller a chance to get more practice reps in and a little more time to heal that hamstring, which can be an iffy injury to deal with.

Waller has had a difficult season, even prior to the injury. He's failed to reach the 80-yard mark once so far, and only has one touchdown.

The Raiders are fighting for a playoff spot, sitting at 5-7, third in the AFC West, but just 2.0 games out of the final playoff spot.

The Raiders take on the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in Week 14, where Las Vegas is a 6.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
