Blackshear vs Lacerda Prediction

Da'Mon Blackshear has shown flashes of potential during his first two UFC bouts, but he has been unable to secure a victory in either instance. His most recent fight ended in a unanimous decision loss to Farid Basharat just under three months ago. The 28-year-old is in need of a breakout showing.

The same thing can be said about Luan Lacerda, though. The Brazilian fighter fell short during his UFC debut in January, losing to Cody Stamann via unanimous decision. He enters Saturday aiming to put on a show and should be able to do so if he leans on his superior ground game in the octagon.

Blackshear has been torn apart on the ground in both of his UFC bouts, which plays right into a few of Lacerda's strengths. He can rely on his jiu-jitsu to get Blackshear to the ground and then lean on his physicality to keep him there. Blackshear's 42% takedown defense rate is subpar at best, anyways.
