Chiefs Get Big Kadarius Toney Injury Update Before Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs were banged up a bit on offense after the team's AFC Championship game win against the Cincinnati Bengals, especially on offense. Wideout Kadarius Toney is one of those players dealing with an injury. He suffered an ankle injury in the AFC Championship game that put his Super Bowl status in doubt.

Kadarius Toney Injury Update

The good news for the Chiefs is Toney told reporters on Monday that he is "definitely" playing in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday.

Toney was acquired by the Chiefs ahead of the NFL's trade deadline this past season from the New York Giants. The former first-round pick has struggled with injuries early on in his career, but when on the field, has shown some real flashes of greatness.

He is a menace in the open field and cuts like a human joystick, someone with those abilities has proven to be very dangerous in the Chiefs' offense. Toney only played in nine games this season with the Giants and Chiefs, but did catch both of his touchdown passes with Kansas City.

He received seven targets in the team's Divisional Round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, so clearly the Chiefs are trying to get him the ball while he/s on the field. With JuJu Smith-Schuster dealing with injuries as well ahead of the Super Bowl, having Toney on the field could prove to be crucial against a talented and tough Eagles defense.

The Chiefs are currently 1.5-point underdogs against the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
